General Icelandic requirements for pilots
Pilots wishing to exercise their licence privileges in aeroplanes registered in Iceland must be holders of:
- Icelandic national pilot licences, or
- EASA-FCL pilot licences issued by the Icelandic Transport Authority or by another EASA member state, or
- Icelandic validations of their valid and current foreign ICAO pilot licences (issued in accordance with ICAO Annex 1).
Foreign visitors in Iceland can use their valid and current ICAO pilot licences for three months for private VFR flights in Icelandic airspace in aeroplanes registered in Iceland.
