New location of ICETRA
In mid-September the headquarters of Samgongustofa, the Icelandic Transport Authority (Icetra) will be relocated to Armuli 2 in Reykjavik. Parallel to the shift, the opening hours of the Authority will be coordinated from 9 am to 4 pm GMT. Due to the relocation, temporary closure of the office and the web systems will be from 2 pm GMT on Friday 12 September to Tuesday morning 16 September.
More changes have taken place at Icetra. On 6 August a new Director General was appointed when Thorolfur Arnason succeeded Hermann Gudjonsson, who will continue to work as advisor at Icetra.
Thorolfur Arnason completed an M.Sc. degree in industrial and engineering management from the Danish Technical University in 1981 and a B.Sc. degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Iceland in 1979. In recent years, he has worked as an independent consultant, Chairman of the Board of Isavia (the Air Navigation Service Provider), as CEO of Skyrr IT and Tal telecommunications and served as the Mayor of Reykjavik in 2003-2004.
