Ban of drones within a radius of 400 metres from ships due to the Council of Europe Summit

Announcement from the National Commissioner of the Icelandic Police of a ban on the operation of drone aircrafts in a given area, as per Article 12(4) of the Regulation on Operational Control of Remotely Piloted Aircraft No 990/2017, due to the arrival of NATO’s standing fleet of vessels to Icelandic shores between 5 and 10 May.
No drones (remotely piloted aircraft) will be allowed to fly within a radius of 400 metres from the ships, both while in Icelandic territorial waters and while they are at Miðbakkar and Faxagarður respectively and Skarfabakki and Korngarðar/Sunbakka. The ban will apply from May 5 to May 10, 2023.
