The Paris MoU has developed temporary guidance for its Member Authorities during the COVID-19 crisis. The guidance recognises that there is a need to apply flexibility under these special circumstances. 

The 2020 examination schedule for ATPL and PPL theoretical knowledge exams at ICETRA has been updated due to effects stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Icelandic Transport Authority sent the instructions for ports and vessels, issued by the Icelandic Directorate of Health, to all agents and known users of the Icelandic Safe Sea Net due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Due to the Covid19 outbreak the Icelandic Transport Authority has issued a general decision extending ratings, certificates, training and medical certificates and reports which, as a direct consequence of the coronavirus, cannot be revalidated in accordance with the applicable requirements.

The Icelandic Transport Agency has now published the first edition of Iceland's Performance Plan, for the reference period 2020-2024. Key performance indicators were identified for: safety, environment, capacity and cost efficiency.

Iceland has implemented the travel restrictions imposed for the Schengen Area and the European Union. As of 20 March 2020, foreign nationals - except EU/EEA, EFTA or UK nationals - are not allowed to enter Iceland. This advice is valid until 17 April 2020.

Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the general reception of the Icelandic Transport Authority (ICETRA) at Ármúli 2 is closed from Monday 16 March 2020. Customers are advised to familiarize themselves with the available means to complete the necessary tasks during this situation.
